Khammam Fort

The Khammam Fort, situated on the Stambhadri hill, is believed to have been constructed in 950 AD by the rulers of the Kakatiya dynasty.

The fort was reconstructed and renovated by many rulers, amongst which the Musunuri Nayaks, Velama kings and rulers of the Qutub Shahi kingdom played a vital role in developing several parts of the fort. Both Hindu and Muslim influences can be seen in the architecture of this fort.
